Oil of Catechumens & Scared Chrism

The person being baptized is anointed on the chest with the Oil of Catechumens (Oleum Catechumenorum).
"We anoint you with the oil of salvation in the name of Christ our Savior;
may He strengthen you with His power, who lives and reigns forever and ever." (USCCB)

The anointing with Sacred Chrism (Sanctum Chrisma) signifies the gift of the Holy Spirit
to the newly baptized, who has become a Christian, that is, one "anointed"
by the Holy Spirit, incorporated into Christ who is anointed priest, prophet, and king. (CCC 1241)
